This notice explains how LEX ROUTE LTD uses personal information when you visit LexRoute, join our mailing list or use a study account.

Information we collect and why

How account monitoring works

Security event recording starts when the monitoring feature is installed; it cannot reconstruct earlier sign-ins. We count successful sign-ins and record their time. IP-country estimates are calculated on our server using a locally stored database. Student IP addresses are not sent to a geolocation API. VPNs, mobile networks and shared connections can give an incorrect country, and some addresses return no country. We do not collect GPS location. Sign-ins from different IP addresses in different estimated countries within 24 hours create a review alert. VPNs and travel can trigger this; it does not automatically suspend access. Alerts are stored for staff review and queued for email where sending is enabled.

We do not record passwords, keystrokes, camera feeds, microphones, your other browser tabs or your device screen. We do not use the cookie notice to obtain blanket consent for surveillance. Personalised watermarks display the signed-in account's name and email on protected learning pages and videos; consider this before sharing your screen.

Study time estimates indicate activity in the platform, not proven attention. We do not use these records to make a solely automated decision with a legal or similarly significant effect. Staff review concerns before deciding what action, if any, is appropriate. You may contact us to challenge inaccurate information.

Issue reports and purchase agreements

When you report a problem, we store your message, account identifier and lesson or question reference to investigate and respond. Do not include confidential third-party information. For a purchase agreement we retain the order details, applicable terms version, acceptance confirmations and timestamp, and relevant verification evidence. We use these records to administer the contract and resolve disputes, not for marketing. We review closed support and agreement records at least annually and retain them only for a documented contractual, legal or dispute-related need.

Marketing and service messages

Our mailing list uses email confirmation. You can unsubscribe through each marketing message or contact us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing. Essential account messages and requested course progress reports are separate from marketing. No advertising pixels or email-open tracking are included in Course Dash messages.

Who can access information?

Authorised LexRoute administrators can view student and security records for their work. Hostinger provides the website hosting infrastructure. Email is sent through the configured hosting mail system; recipient mail providers necessarily process delivered messages. Service providers may process information on our behalf under applicable arrangements. Professional advisers or public authorities may receive information where necessary and lawful. We do not sell student information.

Clicking a social link takes you to an independent platform with its own privacy notice. Social icons and article images are hosted locally; displaying an icon does not load a social-media tracking widget. Do not send sensitive case details or third-party personal information to the study partner.

Storage and retention

• Detailed Course Dash connection events, including IP addresses and estimated countries, are kept for 366 days in the active security log. Scheduled cleanup removes older entries; records past the retention window are excluded from the admin view even if a scheduled task is delayed.
• A cumulative successful sign-in count and last sign-in timestamp remain with the account until it is deleted. The count starts at installation and is not a complete lifetime history.
• Study records remain associated with the account so students can continue their course and obtain reports. We review their continued need after access ends and handle deletion requests individually, taking account of contractual disputes, legal obligations and the rights of others.
• Mailing-list details remain while you subscribe. On withdrawal we stop marketing and retain the record needed to honour the withdrawal and evidence your preference. Contact us if you want the remaining personal details erased.
• Enquiry, transaction or legal records may need a different period based on their purpose and applicable obligations. We restrict records retained for a dispute rather than reusing them for marketing.

Hosting access logs and backups are separate from the Course Dash event log and follow the hosting configuration and backup cycle. An erased record may remain in a restricted backup until that backup is replaced. If a backup is restored, applicable erasure and suppression requests must be reapplied. We do not promise that all copies disappear instantly.

Security and international processing

We use account permissions, encrypted website connections, access checks and limited administrator access. IP addresses in the Course Dash security log are encrypted in the database. No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will assess notification obligations and inform affected people and the regulator where required.

Hosting and email operations can involve processing outside the UK, depending on the provider and recipient. Where we arrange a restricted international transfer, we must use an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum where required. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Some rights have legal exceptions. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity, and normally respond within one month; lawful extensions may apply to complex requests.

Email info@lexroute.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Contacting us first is helpful but is not a condition of complaining.

Adults, changes and cookies

LexRoute is intended for adults. Please tell us if a child has provided information so we can review and remove it where appropriate. We will update this notice when our practices change and provide additional notice where a change materially affects you. Read our cookie policy for browser storage information.

The current LexRoute public pages use essential technology for security and your choices. We have not added advertising or audience-analytics cookies to these pages.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. Similar rules can apply to other browser storage and device-access technologies. A cookie may last for a browser session or have an expiry date. Its purpose determines how it should be treated, not simply whether it is labelled first-party or third-party.

What this site uses

The asterisk means the end of the name varies. Cookies used by the hosting infrastructure may differ from those set by Course Dash. We review this inventory when the website configuration changes. Passwords and course content are not stored in the notice cookie.

Your choices

The first-visit notice explains the current essential-only setup. There is no “accept all” switch because no optional tracking category is currently offered. The Cookie settings link in the footer reopens the notice. You can delete cookies or restrict them through your browser; disabling authentication cookies will prevent sign-in and may stop protected learning features from working.

We will seek the consent required by law before introducing optional advertising or analytics technologies that require it, and offer a refusal choice as easily as an acceptance choice. Acknowledging this notice does not consent to future tracking. Continued browsing is not treated as consent to optional cookies.

Links, videos and security logs

Social links open third-party websites. Those websites control their own cookies. Current course videos are delivered from protected school storage rather than a third-party embedded player. Course security logs record defined connection events on our server; they are explained in the privacy notice and are not a cookie-based advertising profile.

Information on this website

Our articles provide general education and examination information, not legal advice on a particular matter. We aim to keep them accurate, but assessment arrangements can change. Check the SRA's current specification and candidate instructions before booking or sitting an examination. LexRoute is independent of the SRA and examination delivery providers.

Courses and availability

SQE1 and SQE2 preparation are marked coming soon. Descriptions of planned features are not an offer of immediate access. Before a purchase, we will provide the applicable price, inclusions, access duration, cancellation information and purchase terms. These website terms do not remove statutory consumer rights.

Content and permitted use

You may read the public pages and link to them fairly. LexRoute's original text, imagery and course materials are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Brand icons identify their respective platforms and remain subject to their owners' rights. Do not redistribute protected course materials, share another person's account or present our work as your own. Statutory exceptions and permissions granted by law still apply.

Acceptable use and account security

Do not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the service, upload malicious software or use the website unlawfully. Keep account credentials private and tell us if you suspect compromise. We may take proportionate steps to investigate misuse or secure accounts. Security signals alone are not conclusive evidence of misconduct.

Third-party links and service interruptions

External websites have their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not mean we control or endorse everything on that website. Access may be interrupted for maintenance, faults or reasons beyond our reasonable control.

Responsibility and your rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing removes rights that consumers have under applicable law. Any dispute about paid course services will also be subject to the purchase terms and applicable consumer protections.

Contact us to raise a concern or report an accessibility or security issue. We may update these terms for future website use and will show the revised date here. Read our privacy notice and cookie policy for information about personal data and browser storage.

We want people to be able to use LexRoute with a keyboard, screen reader or enlarged text. We are still testing and improving the website.

Current support

The public pages use labelled controls, clear headings, visible keyboard focus and layouts designed to adapt to smaller screens. Interface motion respects the reduced-motion preference where supported. Social icons have accessible names even when no text label is shown.

Known limits

We have not completed an independent accessibility audit and do not claim full compliance. Video captions, transcripts and the accessibility of uploaded teaching materials need review as the course is prepared. Downloaded PDF reports may be less accessible than the corresponding on-screen information.
